Overview
Early Orientation & Advance Credit Exams (ACE) is designed for students with high academic achievement. This 2-day program offers students the option of earning college credit at UL Lafayette through ACE testing, as well as learn about opportunities through the Honors Program. All students, whether they choose to take part in ACE testing or not, will go through the New Student Orientation program on Thursday & Friday.

Eligibility Requirements
Early Orientation & ACE Testing is only open to students who meet ONE of the following requirements:

Earned Composite ACT of 26 (SAT 1170)

Earned ACT Math of 26 (SAT Math 590)

Earned ACT English of 28 (SAT Verb 630)
-
Earned ACT Science of 28 (SAT Math 630)
Orientation Check-In Times
Check-in times vary for students depending on their testing schedule and need to attend Honors Program meetings. Please consult the chart below to determine the best time for your check-in based on your circumstances. Parking is available for free in Lot 22G or the Taft Street Parking Garage (Building 91), and check-in occurs at the Student Union (Building 31 on our Campus Map).

*Some students attending Orientation Only may wish to check-in earlier to attend sessions on the Honors Program, Financial Aid, & Housing offered on Thursday morning. Consult the Schedule of Events for more information on these sessions.
Excuse Letters
Students needing an excuse letter for missing school activities or other obligations can request a letter at the Orientation Information desk during Orientation.
Orientation Housing
Overnight accommodations on campus are not available during Early Orientation/ACE. Students & Parents attending this session should click on the More Important Information section of our website for information on local hotels & rates.
Orientation Fee
The fee for Early Orientation & ACE is $75.00 and includes all Orientation program materials, meals, a university course catalog CD, program facilitation, and a Ragin' Cajun spirit shirt. Your Orientation fee must be paid online at the time of registration. You can pay using a Credit Card (MasterCard, American Express, Discover) or with an electronic check.
